Scientific Advisory Board

DigestScience's Scientific Advisory Board is made up of internationally renowned scientists and clinicians.

This researcher-clinician combination testifies to our intention to support research which directly benefits patients and which matches the latter's expectations.

Professor Jean-Frederic Colombel

In addition to his activity as a physician providing care to a large number of patients, Professor Jean-Frederic Colombel is an active member of several learned societies and association : he has been notably Chairman of the European Crohn´s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) in 2009, currently scientific commitee chairman of the François Aupetit Association (AFA), the EPIMAD registry and the Intestinfo network.

Professor Laurent Beaugerie

Professor of Gastroenterology at Saint-Antoine hospital, Pierre et Marie Curie Paris-6 University, Paris, member of the AGA, and one of the two National Representatives of France in ECCO.

Professor Julian Panes

Dr. Julian Panes is chief of Department Gastroenterology at Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, and assistant professor of Medicine of the University of Barcelona. His research group is focused on the identification of new molecular targets for treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, the development of cell therapies, and the implementation of new diagnostic tools, with special interest in cross-sectional imaging

Professor Robin Spiller

Professor of Gastroenterology in the Nottingham Digestive DiseasesCentre Biomedical Research Unit at the University of Nottingham, UK. His main interest is in thepathophysiology of functional GI diseases, particularly focusing on the role ofinfection and inflammation in the irritable bowel syndrome. 

Doctor Simon Travis

Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Translational Gastroenterology Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and President-Elect of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO).

Professor Séverine Vermeire

As a Professor at the University of Louvain in Belgium, Séverine Vermeire is a specialist in the functional genomics of IBD.
