Prof. Jean-Pierre Gendre, head of hepatogastroenterology department in Saint-Antoine Hospital (Paris) and member of the DigestScience scientific advisory board has retired, the Foundation team thanks him for his very active participation in the DigestScience scientific life.

Laurent Beaugerie takes over : Professor of Gastroenterology at Saint-Antoine hospital, (Paris), member of the AGA, and one of the two National Representatives of France in ECCO.

He initiated and coordinates the French observational CESAME cohort, which aims to better understand and prevent all cancers related to IBD and/or to immunosuppressive treatments. With the Saint-Antoine tertiary care centre team, he is engaged in clinical research on natural history and complications of IBD. He is currently compiling data form this research and from efficacy and safety parameters of treatments to optimise management strategies for IBD.
